Create Real Change.

Diversity and inclusion have become popular buzzwords over the last couple of years, but our goal is to make diversity the norm, and not a trend.

We believe Diversity and Inclusion training is an important step to take, in order to create an environment in the workplace where everyone feels accepted, and free to express themselves and their views without fear of discrimination.

Diversity and Inclusion Foundation Level FAQ

Training can be delivered through various formats, including in-person workshops, virtual training sessions, webinars, or a combination of different methods. The mode of delivery depends on factors such as the geographical distribution of participants, organisations preferences, and the availability of technology. Training includes:

  • Interactive workshops.
  • Group exercises.
  • Lived experience learning.
  • Open safe space discussions.

Diversity training refers to the various different characteristics represented within a group of people which is taught by our Mission Diverse team to your employees both online or in-person. You can also have a read of our short blog which clearly details what diversity and inclusion training is here.

You’ll often hear the acronym “EDI”, “DEI” or D&I in the world of diversity and inclusion. However, they all mean similar things depending on your perspective and understanding of the abbreviation.

Although the acronym itself has developed over the years, it traditionally stood for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. To help your understanding, we have broken down what those three words really mean when it comes to working with people

Equality refers to a person’s equal and fair opportunity in relation to others within the workplace.

Diversity refers to characteristics or preferences that differentiates a person or group. Commonly recognised diversity traits are (but not exclusive to) race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, personal identification, education, and national origin.

Inclusion refers to the action or state of including others within a group or an organisation. Inclusion is also the acceptance of people from a range of different cultures and backgrounds, and making sure everyone is treated fairly and equally.

It’s also important to remember that training isn’t the only thing you need to do to improve workplace diversity and inclusion. As an organisation you should also ensure you have Diversity and Inclusion Prevention Strategies, Processes and Policies in place to maintain and develop your inclusive workplace culture.

At Mission Diverse we believe in connecting companies with communities. Unlike some organisations, we are a non-profit company, who use the money you pay us for our training programmes, to reinvest in our Local Community Employability and Enterprise programmes.

Our employability and enterprise programmes provide education, mentoring and personal development training to people from underrepresented and disadvantaged communities. By doing this we hope to provide those from underrepresented communities with the necessary skills and knowledge to enter entrepreneurship and the workplace (…or maybe come and work in your company!).
